To be human, means that sometimes we each will struggle and suffer. But this very pain can be a messenger, leading us towards growth and greater vitality. Therapy can quicken this process. It takes tremendous courage to seek treatment, and to honestly share and discuss your life’s challenges with someone you do not know. I consider taking part in therapy a privilege, and I believe respect and warmth for each client’s unique experiences to be a core part of our work. I primarily use Internal Family Systems (IFS) with my individual clients because it helps my clients better listen to, understand, and care for themselves. IFS is predicated on the the idea that each of has multiple parts, some of which are in conflict with others. IFS allows for integrating inner conflicts and finding more ease and peace in the Self and for healing the burdens we carry from our childhoods and traumatic experiences.
